Chapter 5
He checked 7:14, he had overslept. Shouldn't have stayed this long, he needed to get back to the habitation. The switch on his watch flipped to navigation and a bleep showed the pink dot two miles west. He looked to the west and saw a mountain it must be Mt. Camerie he would head towards that. Soon his legs and arms fell into a rhythm that seemed to be unnatural.
Sometimes he ran into an especially dense thicket that would throw him off his rhythm. In the time he would have the rhythm down his thought could stray into that state of periodicity. He thought about a lot of things. His mind kept on falling back to the string of numbers that could blow up half the world . It had the format of a serial code but had a deadly secret.
He was halfway through the hike when it quickly became an uphill battle. He must have been nearing the foot of Mt. Camerie. He probably should at least make it to a somewhat high point to get a vantage point on the habitation. It was getting dark and he didn't want to climb the mountain in the dark. He set up a temporary shelter and settled in. He felt the ground shake. The capital scum must have been firing missiles over the Frontera.
